Five years ago today, a gunman killed five employees and injured two more at the Capital Gazette newsroom in Annapolis.
Journalists are protectors of our democracy, and often experience trauma as they report on gun violence. They should be safe in their workspaces.
You shouldn’t get shot for ringing the wrong doorbell.
You shouldn’t get shot for entering the wrong driveway.
And you shouldn’t get shot for getting in the wrong car.
This is the country the gun industry has created. And too many Americans are shot because of it.
On Jan. 24, two men from Young Americans for Liberty, neither of whom were Georgetown affiliated, were removed by GUPD after distributing pro-gun pamphlets and gathering student information in Red Square. Read more about the incident:
