My condolences go to the loved ones of Gunner Sebastian Halmagean. His service with the Canadian-led NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia contributed to our commitment to collective defence alongside our allies.
I sincerely hope that mine is just one of many portraits of Prime Ministers from both parties that will continue to be hung in the Parliament of Canada for decades and centuries to come […] but that will require that in these perilous times both parties whatever their differences, come together to preserve the independence and unity of this blessed land.
Thank you to the volunteers out this morning installing the Veterans Memorial Banners in downtown Brockville.
An outstanding project by the Brockville Legion Branch 96 to honour those who have served and continue to serve. The banners are a visible reminder, leading up to Remembrance Day, of the sacrifices made for our freedom.
We will remember them.
Act now for respect, quality education and liveable wages at @UWaterloo . Tell #UWaterloo it's time for a fair first contract for graduate teaching assistants and research assistants : https://t.co/yIo8sXT7Yz
Today, we remember the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks, including 24 Canadians, and honour the brave first responders who risked everything to save others.
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you;
blessed are you among women.
Today, the Church celebrates the Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
She is hailed as Queen of Heaven and Mother of Mercy, for she bore the Son of God, the Prince of Peace, whose kingdom has no end.
Pope Leo XIV has called for a day of prayer and fasting for peace on Friday, August 22, the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He invites the faithful to unite in asking, through Mary, Queen of Peace, for justice, reconciliation, and a “disarmed and disarming peace” in every land scarred by war, especially the Holy Land and Ukraine.
