British police don't carry guns. Only a handful of countries on earth can say that.

And it's on purpose. 🇬🇧

In 1829 London had no police at all.

When there was trouble the government sent soldiers. Soldiers have one answer to everything… 🔫

Robert Peel wanted something nobody had tried: ordinary men, in a blue coat, with a stick. 👮‍♂️

Blue so you couldn't mistake them for the army. A stick so the answer was never a bullet. And a rulebook written before any of them stepped outside.

Your job is to prevent crime, not punish it. You have no power the public hasn't given you. Use force last, as little as you can.

The police are the public. The public are the police.

London hated them. Raw lobsters. Blue devils. Peel's bloody gang. In their first year a constable was killed breaking up a fight and the jury called it justifiable.

They went out the next morning with a stick anyway.

And year by year London stopped throwing things, because the men in blue kept their side of the deal. The world copied the idea. Then most of it added a gun.

We didn't.

They teach you Peel invented the police. Not why the officer outside your Tesco is unarmed.

They kept their side for 2 centuries. Ours is to remember it.

They went out with a stick when the whole city hated them…

In what world did the Government think it acceptable to delete every response to the consultation that helped draft the anti-Muslim hostility definition — Britain’s new Islamic blasphemy law?

It is clear there has been a cover-up in Angela Rayner’s Communities Department.

Did ministers allow extremists to influence the definition while excluding the Free Speech Union and the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) from the process?

This is a national disgrace. The public deserves to know the truth.

The anti-Muslim hostility definition has already had a chilling effect on free speech. It has been weaponised by activists, police forces and even Labour MPs to silence legitimate criticism and debate about Islam.

This is a Facebook post from Cllr Tom Dickerson on the RAF Barnham protest.
A tiny rural village and a small town being told they’ll have to absorb over a thousand unvetted single men, with no proper consultation, a primary school nearby, and locals expected to just get on with it.
People turned up peacefully to say no. That’s not hate. That’s a community defending itself.
