@financedystop The benefit of housing is leverage you get 95% financing on an asset and then get 100% of the appreciation on the underlying asset. You can't generally do that with margin in the stock market.
@texasrunnerDFW I dont know, i hear this but I fill up my 15 gallon tank once a week gas prices have gone up roughly a dollar so I am spending an extra 15 dollars a week pretty non consequential so far. I imagine it will start to show up in other areas soon though
@jonbrooks when did you first call for this? is it just as possible that a decade worth of appreciation happened within the first 2 years of 2020 and now we will remain stagnant for the next 8?
@saylordocs right its no longer the magical way to 10x your money that people still feel it is. It might be a fine investment but its not going to make anyone wealthy without a lot of leverage
@Uncommonsince76 if inflation did not exist why would we invest. If you could hold on to dollars and they appreciated risk free why would anyone risk investment.
@BarbellFi@brent_e_trader ok but doesn't the same sentiment hold for a 401k? You can't touch that money either until your 60 so its not exactly liquid.
