A vision is having a crystal clear sense of what the finish line looks like, but no idea how far away it is. Success comes in the journey, not as a product of the end result.
Vision and perception are an interesting thing. The way you see and experience the world may not always be the way it actually is. Your entire reality is shaped by your subjective thoughts and feelings, and how those project to control your energy, actions, and interactions.
Hat tip to everyone who is striving to be forward center of mass, building things, giving to the world and striving to be better. It takes guts and focus. Keep going. The rest is noise.
Still one of my favorite quotes. “We don’t get to choose how we start in this life, ‘real’ greatness comes from what you do with the hand you’re delt.” #sicparvismagna

Started an on-going small project back in early December 2023 to aggregate and transfer over at least some of the enormous amounts of notes I’ve taken over the last couple years into blog posts on my website.
Topics covered (or have planned to cover and are work in progress):
- General Networking
- Subnetting and CIDR Notation
- Kubernetes (specifically Networking and Services)
- Terraform
- TLS Certs and PKI Infrastructure.
- Istio / Service Mesh

True in so many areas - people are chasing complexity. They learn the basics enough to be average, then look for a secret, shortcut, or hidden knowledge. Mastering the basics is the key to being ruthlessly effective. Basics might seem simple, but doesn’t mean they are simplistic.
Do not ask for an opportunity… until you are ready for it. “Fill your cup” - meaning fill the cup you have now, until it’s overflowing. Only then, are you ready for a new “cup”, and life will open the doors and provide opportunity. Put in the work, and take no shortcuts.
Tip for advanced lifters: do hack squats or leg press before doing squats. Roast your quads before squats so you don’t have to go as heavy. Keeps your STF (stress to fatigue) ratio down to get the most out of your hard work. Guaranteed to grow your legs. 💪🏼
Simplifying as much as possible is crucial to success. As a leader, it doesn’t matter how well you have presented the information or communicated the plan or strategy. If your team doesn’t get it, you have not kept things simple, clear, and concise and you have failed.
Its fascinating to me how many people disagree with this sentiment. Of course there are always nuances and exceptions, but in general maybe it’s just an uncomfortable truth for many.
I think it’s fair to ask if the MD or scientist or public health official saying to do X or not do Y looks and sounds healthy and vital. I avoid going to a dentist with bad teeth. What do you think? I sense diverging opinions on this.
The highest level of confidence is being able to listen to other people's ideas. If you want to be a good leader, and/or if you find people don't listen to you, then listen to other people. It takes true confidence and humility to support other people.
However, the quantum field does not respond to what we want, it responds to who we are being. So to change your life, you must match your frequency with the desired frequency of the state, and state of mind, you want to be. You must become who you want to be. (4/4)
A little mental motivation for the day - when quantum physics meets neuroscience 🧵(1/4):
In quantum physics, everything in the physical universe is made of subatomic particles such as electrons. By their very nature these particles exist as pure potential...
and we are capable of collapsing into existence an infinite number of possible realities. In other words, if you can imagine a personal desire you have in life, that reality already exists as a possibility in the quantum field. Waiting to be observed by you. (3/4)
To those on the verge of giving up:
You may not be getting paid in money, but you are getting paid in experience.
Earn enough of it and money will come.
Compared to 4%, people with an omega-3 index of 8% have a 5-year increased life expectancy
For reference:
It takes about 2g of omega-3s a day to go from 4% to 8%
