I'm old enough to remember when a mob drove a paediatrician out of a community because of a paedophile panic gee'd up by rightwing tabs and the morons who read them didn't know the difference. Same thing here. The tabs are an absolute stain on England and humanity in general
There may well be serious questions about policing and equality guidance. But there is still no conclusive evidence that anti-discrimination policy caused the actions of officers the night Henry Nowak died. But half of British politics is acting as if there is.
Piece from me on the endless unreality of Britain's culture wars.

When I fell asleep at the Garden, the Knicks were Winning. Then when I wake up, I see the Spurs have "won." It seems that in the 4th Quarter, the so-called referees kept "finding" Points for the Spurs. Rigged! Fake Game!

@mckaycoppins@TheAtlantic IN a world where we all feel siloed off from one another an expression of a universal sentiment from 170+ years ago is most welcome
Wrighty speaks truth to America. Looking forward to @TheAthletic interviewing him on this, cause the sports subsidiary of the @nytimes is always on top of things, right?

Probably a question best addressed to @simon_schama and a variety of other prominent intellectuals unchastened by what happened when a different venal, GOP prez invaded Iraq. (I was chastened by that experience which like you @JohnSimpsonNews i covered unembedded in Kurdistan
Back in January I tweeted my doubts that Pres Trump really intended to come to the aid of Iran’s people by pushing for regime change. The responses were angry and personal, naturally. But does anyone still believe he’s genuinely thinking of overthrowing the Islamic republic?
"God send that our country may never have a government which it can feel. This is the perfection of human society." Thomas Jefferson
The US now has a government the people can "feel." & the overwhelming majority feels ashamed of it every hour of the day.
@b_judah I think NYC diminished itself culturally, similar process to how Harvard and Yale have diminished themselves. For rich suburbanites who can afford it and whose prejudices are never challenged, just reinforced.
