Today, I met the NRM Parliamentary Caucus at Munyonyo and shared with them what I picked from wananchi during the recent campaigns.

I directed that corruption in the health sector and the Parish Development Model be decisively tackled. The theft of medicines, absenteeism by health workers, diversion of PDM funds, the sale of government jobs, and all forms of corruption must stop. These MPs must speak out without fear, monitor government programmes closely, and ensure that they deliver real benefits to the people.

Uganda Government should acquire and upgrade Kajjansi Airfield into a fully-fledged domestic and regional international airport, similar to Wilson Airport (Kenya) and Arusha Airport (Tanzania). Expanding the runway to about 3,000 metres and installing modern air traffic control, navigation systems, weather services, customs, immigration, cargo, and rescue facilities would unlock enormous economic potential. Kajjansi would become the gateway for domestic tourism, business aviation, charter flights, pilot training, medical evacuation, and regional connectivity, while easing congestion at Entebbe International Airport. This strategic investment would create thousands of jobs, stimulate tourism, attract private investment, strengthen national security through an alternative airport, increase government revenue, and position Uganda as East Africa’s leading aviation and tourism hub….

I was pleased to kick off the journey for the first formal export of products to West Africa under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCTA), which Uganda and 44 other nations signed in 2018.

I thank President Tinubu and his government for allowing us to work together on opening Nigerian airspace for flights into each other’s territories and making room for Ugandan products under AFCTA.

Yesterday was a very great day in the history of Ugandan and East African sport as we received @EliudKipchoge of Kenya for the kids Xmas run in kapchorwa.
In company of him was many other great athletes like @GKamworor and our own Peruth chemutai.
I thank Eliud for the words of inspiration to our children and community.
This year’s theme: “Running for quality education, cultural art integrated with sports and creating awareness for GBV.

I thank the @GovUganda @KagutaMuseveni and @JanetMuseveni for the support towards our sporting events both the Christmas run and the football tournament starting shortly.

I thank incredible partners for walking with me as we inspire the next generation of sports heroes.
