BREAKING: President Biden unloads a fiery attack on Donald Trump for trying to falsely paint his felony conviction as a political witch hunt, calling it "reckless" and "dangerous."
And he was just getting warmed up...
"Donald Trump was given every opportunity to defend himself. A state case, not a federal case, was heard by a jury of twelve citizens," said Biden. "Twelve Americans. Twelve people like you, like millions of Americans who served on juries."
Biden said that the hush money conviction proves "the American principle that no one is above the law" and that the jury was "chosen the same way every jury in America" in "a process that Donald Trump’s attorney was part of.”
"The jury heard five weeks of evidence. Five weeks, after careful deliberation, the jury reached a unanimous verdict," said Biden. "They found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts."
Biden also pointed out that Trump can now appeal the verdict because "that’s how the American system of justice works."
"It’s reckless, it’s dangerous, it’s irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged just because they don’t like the verdict," Biden went on. "Our justice system has endured for nearly 250 years, and it literally is the cornerstone of America.”
"We should never allow anyone to tear it down, simple as that. That’s America," said Biden. "That’s who we are. That’s who will always be, God willing."
Well said Mr. President!
We the American people — those of us not in the MAGA cult — know that this Trump conviction was justice being served. Now we just need to lock him up for his crimes!

A teacher at an elementary school in South Carolina wanted to help little boys with no dad at home so he started a "Gentleman's club" where these little guys dress up and learn how to shake hands, make eye contact, etcetera. He even has extra jackets and ties for boys who can’t afford them.
36 years ago today, Thomas Sankara, a revolutionary African leader, was assassinated by French imperialists.
Sankara drove out French imperialism from Burkina Faso and withdrew from IMF and made the country non-reliant on foreign aid.
He was assassinated in a coup led by his close ally, Blaise Compaoré supported by French imperialists
As far as African leadership goes, Thomas Sankara was cut from a different piece of cloth.
Here are some of his accomplishments, ONLY 4 YEARS in power (1983-87):
– He vaccinated 2.5 million children against meningitis, yellow fever and measles in a matter of weeks.
– He initiated a nation-wide literacy campaign, increasing the literacy rate from 13% in 1983 to 73% in 1987.
– He planted over 10 million trees to prevent desertification
– He built roads and a railway to tie the nation together, without foreign aid
– He appointed females to high governmental positions, encouraged them to work, recruited them into the military, and granted pregnancy leave during education.
– He outlawed female genital mutilation, forced marriages and polygamy in support of Women’s rights
– He sold off the government fleet of Mercedes cars and made the Renault 5 (the cheapest car sold in Burkina Faso at that time) the official service car of the ministers.
– He reduced the salaries of all public servants, including his own, and forbade the use of government chauffeurs and 1st class airline tickets.
– He redistributed land from the feudal landlords and gave it directly to the peasants. Wheat production rose in three years from 1700 kg per hectare to 3800 kg per hectare, making the country food self-sufficient.
– He opposed foreign aid, saying that “he who feeds you, controls you.”
– He spoke in forums like the Organization of African Unity against continued neo-colonialist penetration of Africa through Western trade and finance. • He called for a united front of African nations to repudiate their foreign debt. He argued that the poor and exploited did not have an obligation to repay money to the rich and exploiting
– In Ouagadougou, Sankara converted the army’s provisioning store into a state-owned supermarket open to everyone (the first supermarket in the country).
– He forced civil servants to pay one month’s salary to public projects.
– He refused to use the air conditioning in his office on the grounds that such luxury was not available to anyone but a handful of Burkinabes.
– As President, he lowered his salary to $450 a month and limited his possessions to a car, four bikes, three guitars, a fridge and a broken freezer.
– A motorcyclist himself, he formed an all-women motorcycle personal guard.
– He required public servants to wear a traditional tunic, woven from Burkinabe cotton and sewn by Burkinabe craftsmen. (The reason being to rely upon local industry and identity rather than foreign industry and identity)
– When asked why he didn’t want his portrait hung in public places, as was the norm for other African leaders, Sankara replied “There are seven million Thomas Sankaras.”
– An accomplished guitarist, he wrote the new national anthem himself

“One must say Yes to life and embrace it whenever it is found — and it is found in terrible places; nevertheless, there it is.
For nothing is fixed, forever and forever and forever, it is not fixed; the earth is always shifting, the light is always changing, the sea does not cease to grind down rock. Generations do not cease to be born, and we are responsible to them because we are the only witnesses they have.
The sea rises, the light fails, lovers cling to each other, and children cling to us. The moment we cease to hold each other, the moment we break faith with one another, the sea engulfs us and the light goes out.” —James Baldwin
Overheard: LeBron James with no father, no education, no training, and very few role models, they handed this young, dirt poor kid $420,000 per week, at the age of 18!
He married his high school sweetheart, was never arrested, never used drugs, never humiliated his spouse with side chick stories. No outside babies.
Never in the news with so much as a parking ticket.
Excellent father. Heavily involved with his kid's activities.
Greatest player on the PLANET in the game today!
16 years later. Same dude. Same maturity. Same chick. Same family. Reputation intact. Now earning close to $2 million per week. Has sent 1100+ kids to college fully payed for.
And you hate him...why?!?!
Henry Johnson nicknamed ‘Black Death’ was an American soldier who beat back a German assault during WWI. Despite being stabbed, shot, & hit with a grenade, he managed to kill & injure 24 German soldiers all by himself. In 2015, he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery.
Unveiling Global Inequality: The Biased Lens of Media Coverage
The wall-to-wall coverage of the Titanic Sub has once again shed light on the persisting racism deeply ingrained in our world.
While the tragic loss of life deserves our utmost sympathy, it is essential to acknowledge the stark contrast in media attention given to different incidents.
Just the same week, another ship sank, resulting in the deaths of numerous immigrants.
However, their plight has been conveniently overlooked by mainstream media.
This blatant disparity in coverage compels us to question the values our society holds dear.
The sinking of a ship carrying hopeful migrants from Libya to Italy, near Greece, should have resonated with the international community.
But as the world came together to celebrate the International Day of Refugees, not a single mention of this tragedy made its way into the headlines.
It is a sobering realization that our society seems to prioritize the lives and stories of the privileged while turning a blind eye to the suffering of the less fortunate.
The media's selective focus on incidents like the Titanic Sub reveals a disheartening truth: our world seems to care only about billionaires, disregarding the countless lives lost and dreams shattered within marginalized communities.
As we witness this unequal distribution of empathy and compassion, we must question the inherent biases within our society and challenge the status quo.
Let us not forget that the voices of the unheard are just as important, if not more so, than those amplified by the media.
The lives lost in the recent shipwreck deserve recognition, remembrance, and justice.
By acknowledging these neglected stories and advocating for a more equitable media landscape, we can work towards dismantling the systemic racism and socioeconomic inequality that perpetuate this skewed perception of value.
“Well, today didn't go as we hoped but it's in the hardest of times we learn the best lessons and feel the most gratitude.
Buffy was scheduled to have her teeth cleaned and removed today but Dr. Mac had a gut feeling she needed to look at some lab work before putting her under anesthesia.
She was right:
Buffy showed signs of advanced kidney failure so anesthesia was not an option and as a family we decided that the kindest and most loving thing to do would be to let her go before she lost her will to live and stopped eating and drinking.
I wouldn't have dreamed of leaving Robbie out of this decision or not allowing him to be part of the entire process so I immediately went and picked him up from school. On the way there he told me he wanted to be the one to hold her when she went to heaven. And of course, I gave him that honor.
On the way home I told him how proud I was of him for understanding the importance of caring for old animals and helping to make sure they never ever suffer.
This is what he said...👇
(And for those of you who don't know, Robbie was adopted from the foster care system after years of severe abuse and neglect.)
"I know how it feels not to be loved or cared for and I don't want any animal of mine to ever feel that way. It's only sad for us when they go to heaven. It's a happy day for them. Thank you for being proud of me. Are you ok, Mom?"
From the mouths of babes.
(As our story is being shared more and more I feel like I need to add a little more context and also give you a deeper glimpse into the heart of my son. We adopt senior dogs. Robbie LOVES adopting senior dogs. He is sadly aware the longer a child remains in foster care the less likely they are to be adopted. He told me once "if all you guys had wanted was a baby, you would have never gotten me."
He relates to our "old people" (that's what we call our senior dogs) in much the same way.
He has also reminded me on several occasions that it doesn't matter how long you have something for how much you love it. I asked him what he meant and he said “well you've only known me for two years but you love me like it's been forever.” Yes, my son is the coolest.)”
