NEW: A GOP political consultant named Will Reinert, who clearly counts Comcast (parent company of MSNBC) among his clients, reached out to several people at Breitbart News today begging for a puff piece on Comcast CEO Brian Roberts and other executives at the company issuing a fluffy statement after the assassination of Charlie Kirk and MSNBC terminating Matthew Dowd for his ridiculous commentary on it. (The statement is available here — https://t.co/gOktPnlbV5 ). His argument was we should have a “carrot and stick” approach to establishment media, in other words call them out when wrong like we did with Dowd but also praise them when right (his argument was this Roberts et al statement was good). I told him no effing way, not unless Roberts is willing to ban his employees from falsely calling Republicans and conservatives “fascists” or “Nazis,” which many employees of MSNBC have been repeatedly doing for years now. I offered him the opportunity to make Roberts available for an interview and gave him until close of business (our communications today began around noon). Clearly, as of now, Roberts has decided it is okay to continue to employ people who falsely smear Republicans and conservatives as “fascists” or “Nazis.” They deserve no praise.
