Together, we can make #AccessibleEdTech4All!
The Monarch is in DC! Paul Schroeder, VP Impact & Outreach, spoke to congress about the importance of quality high tech for students who are blind. As the learning landscape expands for the sighted, students with disabilities deserve the same opportunities https://t.co/PK2cwinDWF
@aardrian Well, here is a page that will list available WebSpeech TTS engines for the current browser. A very quick first pass:
https://t.co/4zwRufToJd
When time permits, I'll create a page with voice lists for Mac, Windows, iOS, ChromeOS. I'll leave Android to someone else!
@aardrian A quick check of my Mac...
Chrome 110 shows 163
Safari 16.3 shows 143
Please note, I do a lot of work across TTS languages, so I likely have more languages selected than is typical.
@aardrian I am not aware of a table, but have thought about creating one for the W3C pronunciation work. The table will get quite large, factoring in the variety of voices available across the platforms and the supported languages.
I'm #hiring! This position is for an Associate Accessibility Scientist to join my Accessibility Standards and Inclusive Technology Team at @ETSresearch. You can learn more at https://t.co/CvTTBnvI9G, or DM with any questions.
