#SudanConflict didn’t spare anyone. Elaine is the youngest martyr so far, killed when her house was shelled.
One of her relatives posted the devastating news on Facebook 💔

Neither the UN nor a single "Friend of Sudan" country (including the EU, UK, US, Norway, Canada) has admitted they got it wrong by trusting Hemedti and Burhan when they said they wanted a democratic Sudan. Everyone in Sudan knew this was bullshit, but they were all ignored (1/x).
This is our complex
Many people have started leaving as shelling continues outside
We still don't know what we're going to do especially since there's no guarantee roads are safe
People discussing ways on getting out of Khartoum, on leaving the country. Khartoum folk can do that. Makes me think what all those IDPs from the Nuba Mountains & Darfur went thru. We allowed this happen to us. We kept quiet 30 years ago & our silence has come back to haunt us
Four years ago, a minority of us in the sit-in in Khartoum believed the RSF to be liars, and genocidal murderers. We were sidelined as 'utopian'. I remember a committed comrade made these as she screamed into the ether. Liberal 'pragmatism' has, today, gifted us civil war.
Was the #EU ambassador in Sudan assaulted by the same militia legitimised by the European Union for stopping migrant flows on behalf of #Europe?
Why is it so hard to name them ?
Just a fraction of what people in Khartoum (and elsewhere in Sudan where clashes are ongoing) are going through right now.
And the compounded effect on those who are already carrying past trauma of conflict…
The toll of all of this is immeasurable.

I can’t get myself to do anything. I’m just standing in the middle of the kitchen staring at my phone.
What do we do? How many times are we going to be petrified in place?
