@parsnipper So true! I am blown away everyday by our intensivists, nurses and RTs who have been fighting this COVID war for so long. No voiced judgement, just compassion to show up and do their best to make everyone better โค๏ธ
@ARITZIA @HelenMannCBC Agree! Iโve consistently experienced interest or ignorance from staff depending on how Iโm dressed - decked out in @ARITZIA or wearing anything else. Funny how the treatment doesnโt translate when I get cold called for โVIPโ sales.
In no particular order:
-RD, OT, PT, RT, Chefs, Janitors, Rx, Technicians, SW, APN, Spiritual Care, Managers, Recruitment, Facility and Maintenance, IT, Volunteers + more..
I have major respect for all of these professions and how they help such a large system run smoothly! /FIN
Booking an eye exam via โ๏ธ:
Me: โI work at the hospital so I can get there shortly after 4pmโ
Later on....
Receptionist: โYou said you were a nurse, right?โ
Me: โNo, that is an assumption you made based on where I workโ /1
So many underlying issues/assumptions:
- Do not assume my profession based on where I work or the sound of my voice
- MD โ male
- RN โ female
- Many other professions are employed by a hospital/health authority

Iโve rarely seen a tweet that so well represents the inequities in the COVID pandemic response.
Letโs try to imagine a society that had rapid testing when entering schools, hospitals and long term care, for a moment, rather than at hockey games.
