Eager to silence their critics that are starting to come out of the woodwork, the SEC is speeding up their timeline for additions to the conference. Expect the grant of rights of the ACC to be challenged very publicly and very directly very soon.
Big12 selling its soul to private equity-it’s been almost 2 years in the making. Reported here first way back when (with TKO at that point). Michigan and USC keep fighting the good fight -but it’s a lost cause. B10 will be next
@GlassHalfUte I was warm to it 2 years ago when we were in talks with TKO. Then I learned a lot more about the cost. I’m not warm to it at all now. Cold. Ice cold.
It’s a good thing short term for WVU and all other members but hedging our bets on a breakaway with the other power conferences is the riskiest venture in CFB history.
@Devil_Coug A small private equity deal is being finalized. We aren’t giving up a stake in this deal but it’s phase 1 of several where a stake is on the table and 2 board seats.
I don’t ever ask any of my followers for anything- and that’s not what I’m doing here. This book is special to me and I want to share it with a broader audience than it may get otherwise. Great last-minute gift idea 😉 https://t.co/w6MMtSdFC8
We literally have reports coming out about the playoff committee guaranteeing the ACC a spot in the playoff regardless of the outcome of the championship game. Collusion.
@Stutterstroke Show me where I said that Notre Dame Dame coming to the big 12 was a done deal, please. I did say they were leaving the ACC and that is happening.
Yormark feels that adding Notre Dame as a partial member is a poison pill for any Conference despite heavy support internally from the big 12 athletic directors to pursue that as an option. BY completely sabotaged that effort last night with his statements. Crazy stuff.
@4thand1sports Oh, I won’t cry about it. Not like most of your fans cried about having to join the big 12. I may cry some tears of joy when it comes back to bite you guys in the ass.
In other news-beating the big 10 to the punch, Utah put the final nail in NCAA football by continuing on with private equity after the Big12 passed on it.
@PDT816@TheWildUte A deal like this has the potential to financially cripple an athletic department regardless of how many LLCs you create to try to insulate yourself
