I live in NJ.
Bob Menendez is one of my Senators.
And I am a Democrat.
And while I’m not happy about his indictment, here’s what I’m not going to do: I’m not going to sell t-shirts with his face on it under the words “never surrender”, I’m not going to take shots at the prosecutors via tweet & I’m not gonna show up at his courthouse in a star-spangled singlet to protest.
Instead, I’m going to let the legal process run its course to ensure that justice is served, and I will respect whatever verdict is reached so long as it has been reached justly.
I’m going to do that because I am not a Republican.
And I understand that no one is above the law in this country.
Not my Democratic Senator.
Not their melon-hued messiah.
No one is above the law.
Period.
