If two airlines are going to have a monopoly on air travel in Canada, they should be deemed an essential service. Not saying you shouldn't take some job action, but to the point planes are being grounded is holding the public hostage, and ruins special moments and vacations for innocent people.

This changed my opinion from support of the union workers to supporting the airline.

The 'free work' issue, which the union has previously agreed with and signed off on in every single contract to date btw, would be solved; which is what I was led to believe was the main issue.
