@CC20rake@aakashgupta No they really aren't. Try visting some of the rest of the world and ask any random stranger to name either a) their local basketball/ baseball team or b) a national basketball or baseball player. You will just get blank looks!
@CC20rake@aakashgupta Because only the US plays basketball. In every other country it is a fringe sport. It's exactly the same reason you produce the best American Football and best Baseball players in the world. Nobody else is playing!
@stavrosbrando1@KennyFarq It wouldn't. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are a net drain on the UK economy. If they left the now english pound would gain in value!
@RollingHedge Being a thick gobshite and a dangerous grifter are not mutually incompatable character traits. Indeed they are almost invariably linked traits!
@LukeTryl Simply because with the Chagos deal the only merits were the UK lawyers involved were to get huge payouts at the taxpayers expense. There were absolutely no other merits to the deal at all!
@MarkChangizi No, because religions are intolerant and authoritarian by design. Therefore these are the truest examples of their religions. Medieval christianity followed the religious teaching as does modern islam. The difference is most modern christians now only pay lip service.
@OfficialSPGB@MattHarperUK@afneil It really wouldn't. No one wants equayl they all wish to be one up on the next guy.. So if thete are no incentives then you would have to us force to get anyone to work. Gulags and guards. You actually have a twitter acount and you haven't noticed people don't actually get on!
@BCdrainoty@afneil No it doesn't. It's a moderately skilled job that requires physical labour and practice. I can build a brick wall, plumb and wire a house. 1st and 2nd fix woodwork and my trained in trade was airframe (as in airplanes) engineer.
@OfficialSPGB@MattHarperUK@afneil The means of production requires incentives. If I can get the same income sitting on my arse as I can grafting, I ain't grafting and neither is anyone else. Socialists always presume someone else will do the work whilst they pontificate!
@FondOfBeetles The horsemeat scandal and this aren't remotely comparable. The British have a reluctance to eating animals we percieve as companions regardless of taste or nutrient value. The more ludicrous thing here is that it was fraud. However instead of a punative penalty a tax was imposed.
@Emma_A_Webb Yes they were. Unfortunately the arrest they were involved in when the assailants left the scene was that of the victim of the assault. Who just for good measure the police also assaulted!
