A lot of people think I’m good with computers. I think that’s sorta imprecise. What I’m actually good at is guessing what people who are good at computers were thinking when they wrote the software I’m using.
@AmericanAir maintenance issues have plagued what was supposed to be a short trip in both directions. Big delays at the airport waiting for replacement planes. Are you ok?
Why did @Tailscale email me apologizing for picking a Harry Potter movie? Are we so offended by, idk, JKR, that we are going to forever cancel what's not only a good story, but involved thousands of other innocent individuals in a massive and high quality generational production?
Is this, like, the first time the US government has used lethal force against a drug smuggler or something? We are out here trying to fight every battle and that's why we can't win any.
@nicksdot@coderabbi I'm pretty lost. I think a method has to be used by something, and a private method can only be used by the defining class. Even if you extend that so an interface can define and the implementing class can use it, what in the contract requires its use?
@nicksdot@coderabbi > A contract must be allowed to say: “you must use this, but don’t show anyone from the outside”. Otherwise, it’s a contract without teeth.
How would interface visibility require an implementation to use the private method? Could it not be trivially implemented and ignored?
The worst place for finding EV chargers isn't the boonies. It's just north of NYC. Yonkers or so. Everywhere else I've been on the east coast has been great.
Stopped for a drink at connivence store & I nice older man asked me what this was? Told him Cybertruck. Asked me who makes it? Tesla. Asks “is it good on gas?” Told him it’s electric. “Oh I don’t like that. You know if you go somewhere you won’t find chargers & be stuck.” 🤦🏼♂️ Bless his heart, I told him I’ve driven from PA to AL 3 times round trip in it. 🤷♂️ He nodded & drove away shaking his head.
The left doesn't attack the idea of prayer. We attack the performative nature of tweeting about prayer in lieu of real action when, once again, children have died.
If you don't think prayer is a substitute for action, then why do we yet never see action?
It is shocking to me that so many left wing politicians attack the idea of prayer in response to a tragedy.
Literally no one thinks prayer is a substitute for action.
We pray because our hearts are broken and we believe that God is listening.
@adamhobson Also, I recently watched the old 70s/80s movies and even though Gene Hackman's Lex was iconic in its own way I liked this Lex quite a bit. There was a sort of "Peacemaker" ironic quality to him that was lacking in the old portrayals.
