Very disappointed to see use by CRT, especially near water, and especially as CRT promote wildlife and nature. Weedkillers harm bees and insects as well as causing cancer.

Replanting hedgerows (taken out 50yrs ago) with Jayne from Pendle Hill LP, volunteers, farmer and son, at Roughlee. Today 1000 Hawthorn planted, total 10000, with mixed shrubs going in next year. Beneficial to livestock and wildlife.

@LothersdaleWG Woodland at Harwes farm on Kelbrook Moor, from old maps 1840, extended across the whole moor, but appears to have been planted up with a mixture of trees, Sweet Chestnut, Beech, but old Oaks, Alder, Birch,( ancient woodland?) New planting outside and some inside.

@LothersdaleWG Congratulations on award. Tree planting at Harwes farm CIC, above Lothersdale (but in Pendle, and Aire basin) Sat 5th Mar. Woodland Trust trees, Birch, Hawthorn, Crab Apple, Alder. No Holly trees on site but lots of young seedlings. Electric buggy
