Yesterday was my final Taskforce as Volunteer Leader and what a Taskforce it was! Our Hyndburn group got together to cut back the intrusive hedgerow opposite Enfield Wharf in Clayton-le-Moors. What a fantastic job to finish on!

A reminder that we are a volunteer community group, not a large organisation with millions of budget or time. When we announce an event, it has likely taken us 4-5 months of unpaid work to plan. We do not need any gratitude, but we need to be treated with grace.
A very productive day out with our Blackburn Taskforce yesterday. We were at Albion Mill giving the Canal access point a much needed tidy up. We cut back the overgrown vegetation, fixed up the steps and the fencing along the steps, as well as removing LOTS of rubbish too!
Great day out with the Burnley Taskforce on Sunday removing litter and debris in the Canal and along the towpath at Rosegrove. Great job team!

A great day out with our Foulridge Taskforce yesterday. Responding to a customer complaint about litter and debris on Lower Foulridge Reservoir, we went round the entire Reservoir, removing litter and intrusive vegetation as we went. Great work team!

Great day out with our Hyndburn Taskforce last Wednesday. We got a lot done at Tottleworth Bridge in Rishton, including removing hazardous branches, widening the access path and removing a collapsed barbed wire fence. Great job team!

Another great day out with our Chorley Taskforce. Due to today's high winds, we focused today's nature box efforts on installing hedgehog boxes on the ground and removing potentially hazardous branches along the towpath. Great work team!

Our Blackburn Volunteer Team got so much done today! Can you believe that the path widening they did at the Peel Centre was done in 2 hours and the van was willed with rubbish in just 1?! Incredible job team!

A lot of rubbish pulled out of the Canal from our Foulridge group today, all from one bridge in Barnoldswick! Well done team, this should make things nicer for our boaters and the local wildlife!

Great day out with our volunteers yesterday to continue our fight against invasive floating Pennywort at Botany Bay. Hopefully one more session will have us get that area completely clear!
Great work everyone!

Great day out with our Chorley Taskforce yesterday as we continue our battle against floating Pennywort! The beast of Botany Bay is still out there but we've dealt a decisive blow against it!

On Thursday our volunteers got on with a good bit of hedgelaying between Chorley and Blackburn. A lot still needs doing but we're off to a great start! Thanks team!

Great day out with volunteers on the Burnley Mile today as we tackled the litter along the stretch and spread salt on access points to help people be safe whilst enjoying the Canal.
Great job everyone!

Yesterday our Blackburn group met up to take care of the litter problem near Peel Retail Centre. Continually impressed with how our volunteers continue to turn up despite the inclement weather. Well done team!

Brilliant day out in Clayton-le-Moors with our Hyndburn group today. We gave the access steps by Victoria Street a much needed clearing up and continued along the towpath towards the benches. What a difference it's made!

Big thanks to Darren and Carole in our Burnley Taskforce for braving the weather to fix up some steps and tackle fly tipping near Reedley Marina in today's weather!

Happy New Year everyone!
For our first session back, our Chorley Taskforce has been back at Walton Summit Branch continuing the fight against Pennywort and I'm happy to report that it is now completely removed from that Branch!
Well done team!
