@CarlBovisNature #GilleBrìghde, the Servant of St Brigid. Brigid, fleeing from persecutors, collapsed on the seashore - oystercatchers covered her, keeping her hidden. In thanks, she gave them the sign of the cross on their backs. She is often depicted holding an oystercatcher in each hand.
