What if we told people that Jesus is the best possible leader? What if we then told them that Jesusโ Kingdom has an unparalleled set of values? What if we then worked at serving them? What if after that we spent time together discovering the truth? That would be a good thing.
This is my #1 viewed post w/ an average of 11 views/day. It always puzzles me as to why.
Is it coz it touches on the difficulty of separating our religious & political views? The Bible says we conflate the 2. ๏ฟผ

The problem with forgiveness is that it requires me to forgive someone who is not yet perfect. But that's not really a problem, is it, because it means that there's hope that I can also be forgiven even though I am not yet perfect.
God doesnโt have a policy of isolation. God doesnโt have a policy of keeping out those who are bad and keeping in those who are good. Rather, God reaches out to those who are outsiders to bring them in...
Heard an idea from my colleague @Rentzu01 yesterday while discussing church. He came up with this concept of "Church as a whole." By that he meant the church not as a series of groups of different sectors, genders, age groups but as one. Wow! Mindblown.
A video reveals menโs shocking truth: many admit to having nobody to confide in during their lowest moments. Real strength lies not in isolation, but in forging deep connections. Will you risk 400 hours to break this cycle? https://t.co/cvwLwK2QVR
A reminder that this is perhaps the best single collection of fee downloadable missiology books on this here internet. https://t.co/cVAJivpbgZ
Thank you Oxford Centre for Mission Studies!
It's such a harmful Christian theology that looks at wars and famine and says, "This might be the fulfillment of End Times prophecies!" and "Jesus might be retuning soon!" instead of "look at how much people are sufferingโ and โhow can we stop this injustice?"
People can change their mind from reading a book or listening to a podcast BUT very few change their daily life.
It takes interpersonal presence to move from Information to Incarnation.
I'm always excited about Jesus quoting Isaiah 61 in Luke 4. I love the list of promises on how he's going to impact the world. Only recently have I realized the main controversial take of that day is he applies these actions as including people from places like Sidon & Assyria.
I wept at a novel because genealogy helped me feel my ancestor's stories. Our past isn't dead; it's a story waiting to be heard.

As followers of ... Jesus, our invitation isn't to escape to heaven, but to make heaven a reality wherever we are in the present moment. Weโre invited not to escape a broken world for heaven, but to be people who are transforming the present world to be more like it. Ben Corey
@thisisfoster I appreciate your luv for d Gospel. Yet history shows using the state to block other houses of worship was the very tool used to persecute our forebears. True faith must be voluntary - a free conscience. We can proclaim Christ w/out asking the govt to suppress r neighbors' faith.
