13:54 for a 12 second PB last night at the Morton games. What a night! Just want to say a massive thanks to everyone in my corner. Coach, family, friends, DCU. Massive thanks to @MortonGames for giving me the chance and letting me roll the dice🔥
Excellent run from Michael Murphy (Tullamore Harriers) in the Morton Games Albie Thomas 5,000m. First time under 14 mins with a 12 second PB of 13:54.85

European 1,500m champion @ciaramageean is not only a fantastic athlete but a lovely person & a great ambassador for the sport. After her medal ceremony she met every Irish fan and she hung her medal around the necks of the kids, giving them a moment they will treasure forever!🇮🇪
Just after running 14:32 for 5k today at the brilliant @nbharriers 5000m meet. Setting myself up for a great summer!
Big thanks to @RobDenmead@DCUAthletics

I'd hate running too if every day felt hard or moderately hard.
Hard workouts are enjoyable because they are occasional. They allow you to challenge yourself and mostly succeed.
If they are every day, they demoralize and demotivate.
Another national medal added to the collection. Thanks to everyone for all the support especially @RobDenmead and my family. Onto track 🔜

Michael Murphy being congratulated by Mr John Cronin President of Athletics Ireland following his performance at the National Intermediate Cross Country Championships.
Pure speed training is a good analogy for much of what we see online.
Looks cool online: Sprints with short recovery to make athletes look exhausted, throwing up, gasping for air.
What actually works: Full recovery, minimizing fatigue. Learning to work efficiently and optimally
The very best of luck to the FIVE @DCU athletes selected for the Celtic XC in Scotland tomorrow
