European Athletics announces that, for the first time ever, it will be using wavelight pacing technology for the 2025 European Indoor Championships.
“We’re the first championship to use wavelight in a competitive setting,” said TIG Sports & Events director Noor Van der Lugt. “European Athletics approved its use, and now it’s set to be a game-changer.”
And if you hadn’t noticed, that is Louise Shanahan’s dad Ray in the Leevale singlet racing on the old compacted soil track in the original indoor facility in Ireland in Nenagh. Congrats to Louise, who today impressively won the 2025 Women’s 800m title, her 7th National track gold
