"Tumekataa kuwa trailer ya Wakikuyu...watu ambao wanafikiri Kenya ni yao."
CS Ruku hits back at Gachagua, says the outcome of Ol Kalou by-election is not concern for the people of Mt Kenya East.
During Gachagua's impeachment,. Methu warned that the divorce between Mt.Kenya people and William Ruto would be catastrophic and painful. Looking at what happened in Ol'Kalou,it seems his prediction has come true .
Lessons for the "People's IEBC" from Ol Kalou:
Software developer Daniel Miringa says the primary objective is not to be the first to declare a winner, but to guarantee an authentic, transparent reflection of the actual votes cast by Kenyans, however long it takes.

I congratulate the winners of the by-election yesterday. Tumekua na by-elections 10. 9 out of 10, ni broad-based, 1 out of 10 is the clueless people. 90% is a pass! - Governor Gladys Wanga
The bulk of PSs, CEOs in this government are from Mt Kenya region… but, if by the time they get to 2027 they decide to move out of gov’t, that will be unfortunate- UDA SG Hassan Omar
Yesterday in Ol Kalou, I witnessed something that should trouble every Kenyan who still believes elections must be decided by ballots, not bullets.
Kenya is exhausted by electoral theft.
We have seen it whispered about for years, but yesterday it felt as though it was being attempted in broad daylight.
Yet something different happened. Ordinary citizens refused to look away.
I watched officers from the Nairobi Area deployed in Ol Kalou.
Their presence was impossible to ignore. But what I will remember most is not the guns it is the courage of the people.
Men and women stood their ground despite rifles, teargas, intimidation and fear.
Their message was simple: if you want to steal our vote, you will have to face us first.
That is the spirit that protected the ballot.
As someone who was assaulted and later found myself watching these same officers operate, the feeling is difficult to describe.
Fear does not disappear because the bruises begin to heal.
When you have experienced violence, every uniform, every command, every weapon carries a memory.
Yesterday brought those memories flooding back. But it also reminded me that courage is contagious.
The people of Ol Kalou refused to surrender to fear.
Today, @UDA_PartyKe appears to be conceding defeat. The @IEBCKenya has yet to speak publicly, even though everyone present knows what unfolded.
Kenyans deserve a full and transparent account of the events.
One question also remains.
Why was it the Cabinet Secretary @kipmurkomen who rushed to address the nation instead of the Inspector General of @NPSOfficial_KE ?
Operational matters involving police officers ordinarily fall under the National Police Service.
The public deserves clear, independent communication from the institutions responsible for policing, especially after an operation that has generated so many questions.
History will remember Ol Kalou not for the guns that were brought there, but for citizens who refused to let fear silence their voices.
They defended the ballot with nothing more than courage, determination, and the conviction that every vote belongs to the people.
What is Cosmo Choy saying? I need a translator.
“You fought a hard fight against a President, a Deputy President, 7 CSs, 16 PSs, 91 MPs, a train, two boats, 2000 police officers... Wewe ni mtoto wa Mungu.” Gachagua to Ol Kalou’s MP-elect Kamau
My brothers and sisters from Western Kenya, the bribe price they pay for us to make a bad choice on the ballot is fanda and omugadi. In Mountain Kenya, they are paid in boreholes, electricity, gas cylinders, two weeks old efiminywi and boats. They take the bribe price but still do the right thing. Anyway, we take after our two main leaders, “buy one get the other one for free” na “wakishiba, hawana ubaya.”
