Make sure to check your ads manager to remove any admins from your profile you don't recognise. More importantly, change your passwords and check your activity log for any logins and remove the ones you don't recognise. Set up 2FA if you haven't already.

While this is great news. We are still silent on any public apology or reassurances that our data hasn't been breached. I will still enquire about this.

We will provide updates soon. The main takeaway is that THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND THEY ARE NOW VERY AWARE OF THIS!!!

Thousands of @facebook Accounts Wrongly Suspended Due to Hacked @MetaQuestVR Oculus Accounts

A concerning security breach impacting thousands of Facebook users has come to light, with accounts being suspended due to compromised Meta Oculus accounts.

The Issue:

1) Hackers are creating Meta accounts linked to the Oculus virtual reality platform and clandestinely linking them to unsuspecting victims' Facebook accounts.

2) This unauthorised linking bypasses two-factor authentication, leaving accounts vulnerable to exploitation and suspension.

3) Neither @facebook nor @Meta has addressed the issue publicly or provided any response to the growing number of affected individuals.

Impact:

Over 1,000 individuals have reported unauthorised access and account suspensions on various online forums, including Reddit and Meta support forums.

The lack of official response from Facebook and Meta is causing further distress and frustration among victims, who are left without access to their accounts and no clear path to regain control.

Call to Action:

We urge @facebook and @Meta to acknowledge this critical security breach and take immediate action to protect their users.

This includes implementing appropriate safeguards to prevent unauthorised account linking and providing a clear communication and support channel for affected individuals.

@facebook & @meta are you going to issue not only a public apology but an update on the 1000's of accounts that were victim to the Oculus exploit to suspend accounts? 1000s are without Facebook accounts and have lost businesses while non of us can appeal as the accounts are now unlinked and send us in a spiral/loop.
