It's nearly impossible to read the tech news nowadays without tripping over manifold references to OpenAI, ChatGPT, and GitHub Copilot.

On my way to a 10 day trip to the US, visiting Nashville TN and Raleigh NC. I’m meeting clients, partners, and other interesting local people and companies. I’m also giving two talks to the local communities. If you are local, let me know and try to meet.
Tomorrow! (3/1) Please join us for a great talk and chat with @sandromancuso of @codurance, who is the founder of the London Software Craftsmanship Community, on the topic of Outside-in design!

@egentilmente Good programmers are masters of both the abstract and the detail. You can’t write the code without managing the details. You can’t write architecturally sound systems without abstracting.
TDD is the discipline that trains both horns of that dilemma.
Excited that December is going to be a joint meeting with the #Nashville#Azure user group! Hope to see you there

Technical debt is related to features, not quality. Code with technical debt has missing or attenuated features; but is well written.
Code with low quality is delinquent. The lower the quality the more delinquent and the lower the credit rating.
Never blame your employer for things that are your responsibility. If the code is a mess, it’s not the employer’s fault, it’s the programmers’ fault. Learn to negotiate features. Never negotiate workmanship. The only way to go fast is to go well.
Are you joining us tomorrow for a joint meeting with the Nashville #Azure User Group!! We've got a double feature, food, some great networking opportunities, and a raffle :)
Hope to see you there!

I often hear people say that Agile approaches are incompatible with fixed deadlines. In my experience, delivering iteratively and incrementally is the best way to mitigate risk when you have a date with a consequence.
@allenholub@christianhujer I agree if you are refactoring. Tests should always stay green. If we are changing or adding new functionality though, that would be red, green, clean.
Not deploying on Friday (or not ending a Sprint on Friday) is a huge red flag for me. It tells me that your code is such poor quality (and so poorly tested) that you're afraid of something going wrong over the weekend. 1/2
