As we come to a close of Disability Pride Month, we want to end by celebrating the symbol of the Disability Pride Flag. Did you know that the flag's colours each carry meaning?

🖤 Black background — mourning victims of ableist violence and abuse
↗️ Diagonal band — barriers and walls being cut through
❤️ Red — physical disabilities
💛 Gold — neurodivergence
🤍 White — invisible and undiagnosed disabilities
💙 Blue — psychiatric disabilities
💚 Green — sensory disabilities

Together, the six colours represent disability as a global experience that spans nations and borders.

The flag was designed to highlight the multiple experiences and diversity within the disability community with each color representing various disabilities.

Let’s continue to work toward an inclusive world where everyone belongs!
