BREAKING: Donald Trump's week ends with devastating news as a group of Republicans release a brutal $2 million ad campaign destroying his absurd claim to "absolute immunity."
MAGA was blindsided by this one and it gets even better...
The expertly-crafted ad features 25 conservatives outlining why they prefer maintaining the rule of law over absolute immunity. The name of the organization is, appropriately, Republicans for the Rule of Law.
"Our constitutional system is predicated on legal accountability and equal justice under the law, even for presidents and past presidents," said Sarah Longwell, the group's executive director.
"Conservatives feel this in our bones: No man or woman is above the law. In this case, that means rejecting the ‘absolute immunity’ claim," she added.
Trump is claiming that he has immunity as a former president and so cannot be prosecuted for the litany of crimes that he committed. Essentially, he's arguing that he's a king who exists above consequences. The Supreme Court has heard arguments on the issue and is expected to deliver a ruling in the coming weeks.
The ad will be released in eleven states where "the immunity argument has been least available" and states that "are directly impacted by these arguments."
