@KennyCaitriona @coroots_ie Had the pleasure of seeing this first hand on Friday last and couldn't help but being impressed by the great use of this strip of land. We need to use every inch in Cabra in a way that enhances our community's biodiversity to counteract the concrete jungle we live in.
Our very own "warrior" @KennyCaitriona is quite rightly name checked in this weekend's Irish Times article on game changers ๐ช๐ https://t.co/eQz13datmx

The triumph of no-mow May! ๐
Was woken at 7am to the sound of mowers but the lads agreed to spare the early-purple orchids and the ragged robin ๐ We need a campaign for low-mow June/July/August/September so bugs and plants can make it through the year ๐ป
Thanks to the wonderful @kathydjourno for a lovely piece in today's Irish Independent.
Less than 24hrs to go until tomorrow's TV premiere of BIRDSONG on @RTEOne at 18:30!
@RediscoveryCtr @KennyCaitriona @ConnectingCabra Well done to everyone involved in this. The children of all schools involved were amazing and spoke with great passion. Cabra is in good hands. Recognition must go to Caitriona Kenny of @ConnectingCabra for bringing everyone together and being an amazing climate warrior.
Installation of swift and bat boxes happened today in Christ the King and Most Precious Blood Churches in Cabra. We are so excited to invite these beautiful winged creatures into our community with thanks to @CommunityFound and the churches.
A beautiful event on the Samuel Beckett Bridge last night with Little Amal from Syria. We walked with her for a short part of her journey around the world, like millions of other displaced children seeking refuge and sanctuary. ๐ซถ๐โจ๏ธ
Delighted to collaborate with my fellow @climate_ambass Geraldine Breen and @ConnectingCabra on this Swift project in both churches of Cabra. I'm excited to see if we can help our Swift and Bats relocate here and help increase their numbers by giving them a new and safe home.
Join SDCC Heritage Officer Rosaleen Dwyer and Dublin Urban Rivers LIFE (DURL) Project Engineer Ger Staunton tomorrow at 11am as they take us on a tour of flora and fauna in the DURL Project wetlands in Dodder Valley Park. Booking essential by email [email protected]
The next Biodiversity Group meet up in Villa Bank Garden will be on Saturday 25 May at 10.30am. ๐๐ฟ
All are very welcome to come along to do a bit of gardening and get involved in other projects!
Meet at the butterfly mural located behind Phibsboro Library.
Thanks to everyone who came to the Biodiversity Day in Christ the King on 4 May where we launched the Swift nest box project and got more people signed up for permeable driveways and yards. The event was a collaboration with Cabra Parish. More to come!
Had a fantastic time at @ConnectingCabra 's Biodiversity Festival!
Well done on such a great event ๐๐
It was inspiring to hear about the new Swifts project plus all of the other exciting things happening โ including the Biodiversity Box initiative, wildlife pond & much more.
This weekend great progress was made on the Cabra Pond project led by @StephenShanners. More landscaping and planting to do but it looks great and will help biodiversity in Cabra. Thanks to @CommunityFound and @AXA Parks grant for funding!
Hope to meet lots of our Cabra residents and show what we've been working on lately. Free garden makeovers for some lucky residents, nature table, advice on helping our pollinators and of course a cuppa and cream bun. See you there.
