@DanStirland86 @SimonMoody_NZ@AFMuseumNZ Have just seen your message Dan, thanks so much for your thoughts. Her incredible support for fellow museum professionals, especially emerging ones, was one of her greatest legacies ❤
So thrilled to see veteran fighter pilot Bryan Cox reunited with an aircraft he last flew in training 75 years ago - well done to all who made this happen. @NZAirForce#Veterans https://t.co/VXRgMLQTyl
It was our pleasure to host the @WONZ_Show forum at the Museum yesterday. Around 50 gathered to hear from 7 speakers, incl. WW2 fighter pilots Bryan Cox & Philip Stewart, and @SOFIAtelescope pilots Paul Newton & David Fedors. #avgeek
Really want to acknowledge and thank the organisers and speakers at the "What makes a museum director" workshop - stand-out session of the conference for me 👏 It would have been interesting to have had a director of a large institution join the discussion. Next time?? #ma18nz
From my presentation at #ma18nz@MuseumsAotearoa "we all need to carve out some time from our busy schedules to take time to read and reflect". Here's some thoughtful articles on significance, digital collecting, aura and authenticity among other topics from @DHMBerlin https://t.co/Lp3zBf1PsH
@Tairawhiti_muse @BlackleyJimson Thank you both so much - I was nervous about taking him, but seeing Sacha McMeeking with her bubs on stage on Monday gave me confidence! It was very reassuring to hear the family message come through so strongly, it should never be a matter of one or the other.
@Swatchway Indeed - there was a separate session on boards and governance that arvo, but would def be good to combine in future, and broaden the discussion further. The four walls policy was in respect of fact that people were sharing some very personal and honest experiences.
What makes a good museum director? Four walls policy on this workshop, so I won't be tweeting specifics, but so far the speakers have all been fantastic, some really honest insights and practical take-outs. #ma18nz
