In good schools, the teachers and the administration are invested in the success of one another. They respect each other, and they appreciate each other… because they realize that they’re all in it for the same reason: the KIDS!
If you ask 100 teachers what they want in their administration, 99 will say “SUPPORT.” And 1 teacher didn’t understand the question.
If you’re a school leader, I hope you’re looking for ways to support your teachers.
Every leader thinks they’re a good leader. We can’t assume that. We have to check in with our folks. We have to surround ourselves with peeps who will tell us the truth. We have to create the climate where others feel comfortable telling us things we might not want to hear.
Some kids carry around with them the burden of a bad reputation. Be the teacher who gives them a fresh start. Be the teacher who sees in them the potential that their parents see. YOU can be the teacher that helps them “turn the corner.”
DADS ON DUTY: After a violent week of fighting at a Louisiana high school, parents knew something had to change. So, a group of dads decided to show up not just for their kids - but for the whole student body - to help maintain a positive environment. @SteveHartmanCBS has more.
Today we celebrate the amazing opportunities that our association offers to members and advisers. Happy Missouri FBLA-PBL Day! @MOEducation @GovParsonMO
One of the first steps in connecting with a challenging student… is to LIKE them, rather than “put up” with them. It’s amazing how the attitude of the adult can affect the attitude of the kid.
