@jakankc Mainly through school improvement plans and SRBI. I really enjoyed the data visualizations from class last week. It made me think of how I would make data more accessible and meaningful for my staff as a school leader. #EDLR5403
@Mwakes4 I think the article we read "New Thinking on Instructional Leadership" had some excellent points. I loved the focus on organizational management. #EDLR5403
@chk1979 I think they communicate through actions. Nearly every school leader would say "do what is best for students", but the actions are what matter. Creating collaborative planning/coaching opportunities, professional development, and supporting teacher leadership etc.
A6: You have to be part of them as a leader. If you are perceived as being there for accountability it doesn't work. You have to be a lead learner in the building. #5403chat
A5: You have to make it a priority. Master scheduling, protecting common team meeting time, ensuring specialists have time in schedules to collaborate and support. Also engaging in the process as a school leader. You can't be an observer. #5403chat
A3: Using survey data to address parent concerns. There were questions regarding an appropriate sample size. Also who is more apt to fill out a survey? Unhappy/Happy? #5403chat
A1: Building trust and getting a true pulse on the current culture regarding use of data. Then getting a sense of the skillsets in the building in terms of data analysis and use. Lastly, ensuring collaboration time in the master schedule. #5403chat
#ContactTracing slows the spread of #COVID19 and works best with everyday preventive actions.
NEW guidance for CT school districts is meant to serve as a tool to help inform local decision-making process when considering how to address potential exposure in the school setting.
Just submitted all my work for #EDLR5402. Itโs hard to believe my first two #ucapp classes are finished. Short break until fall classes begin. Iโm really looking forward to learning through the context of my own school and my internship.
Met my mentor principal in person today and it was an incredible experience. Sometimes we lose perspective when we are in our own little world all the time. I feel refreshed and renewed. Ready to face the challenges ahead while seeking moments of joy. #EDLR5402
It Passed!! @EastHartfordPS is officially changing Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoplesโ Day. My third grade babies are going to be so happy to know that their letters mattered and made a difference. So Proud and excited right now!!

We need to remember to take care of ourselves and give ourselves and others grace. As someone who doesnโt do a great job of this Iโm trying to make it a priority. #EDLR5402 https://t.co/MEQzKrFlQf
