You can’t cure dyslexia but you can support it. It’s not something to fix or outgrow. With the right instruction, understanding, and advocacy, every student can learn to read, write, and thrive. Every student deserves the right support #DyslexiaAwareness
October brings much-needed awareness to dyslexia, but often myths and misconceptions, too.
Thanks to these authors for honing in on the most central element - “Dyslexia […] involves difficulty with accurate and/or fluent word recognition and/or decoding pseudowords.”
Join us in recognizing #ADHDAwareness Month.
We use this time to raise awareness about attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a common neurodevelopmental disorder that affects up to 12% of children.

Thank you to this incredible group of advocates, educators, and parents who came together to share a fact for Dyslexia Awareness Month. When we raise our voices together, we change the story.

Scams are becoming more advanced and harder to spot — and they’re having a serious impact on people across the country.
That’s why Canada’s major banks, telecom, and tech companies are teaming up with law enforcement and the federal government to launch the Canadian Anti-Scam Coalition (CASC). The first national partnership of its kind to fight scams and help keep Canadians safe, this group effort is taking action to stop criminals from targeting people through multiple channels.

In the bank investigator scam, criminals impersonate a bank employee to trick you into withdrawing your own money to “help” with an investigation. Remember, your bank will NEVER call and ask you to withdraw money from your account.

We are continuing to see an increase in Scammers impersonating TPS officers using Caller ID Spoofing.
If you receive such a call, ask for the caller’s name and badge number, then verify by calling the police division directly.
Do not share personal information without confirmation.
Scammers are calling Toronto residents and identifying as fraud investigators from your bank, requesting your PIN – they’ve even spoofed the customer service number on the back of your debit card to make it look real. Remember – banks will NEVER call and ask for your PIN, and never click any links sent to you by a scammer. Stay alert! News release: https://t.co/ifTZyORfPU

‘The tripwire that appears to be holding kids back is “multisyllabic decoding.”’
Important reading research highlights a nuance about decoding which hasn’t received attention in assessments or curriculum.
Deserves a lot more attention; HT @RKockler for her focus and @rpondiscio for the spotlight.
Ontario teachers - don’t forget to tell any teacher candidates in your schools that they have access to the Decoding and Spelling course through @IDA_Ontario for FREE. From my experience, they are still not getting this type of learning in their teaching programs. #onted
My dear human,
I see your tears as it’s time for me to leave. Please, don’t cry. Let me tell you something before I go.
I’m so grateful I met you. So many animals never know love, but because of you, I did. You gave me a home, a name, and a heart full of joy. Don’t blame yourself—you did everything for me. You made my life beautiful.
We animals live in the moment. We forget the pain and remember the love. And you gave me so much love. Even if our time was short, you made it meaningful. You held my paw as I left this world, and that meant everything.
Please, don’t stop loving because of me. There are so many others out there, waiting for someone like you. Give them the chance you gave me. Don’t let your heart close out of fear.
When you see a star twinkle, know it’s me winking at you, saying thank you. I’ll be waiting for you, my angel.
Not goodbye—just see you later. 🐾💔
