WCK is in Washington, D.C. with food for federal employees and their families.
Our teams are serving thousands of free meals prepared by local restaurants to people impacted by the U.S. government shutdown. We are stationed at Washington Canal Park until 2 p.m.
If you know someone affected by the shutdown, please share this post so they know where to find a meal. ❤️ #ChefsForFeds
Our fiscal year comes to a close w/ great results. $120m under budget, more customers, crime way down, customer satisfaction up. Great job Team Metro & thank you to all our customers and community partners.
.@realdonaldtrump you didn’t have the power to call the National Guard on January 6 but now you do? Washington DC is not only our nation’s capital…it’s a beautiful city that 700,000 people call home. I’m proud to run a business and raise a family here. DC doesn’t need federalized troops…it needs leaders who respect our fundamental founding principles of democracy, dignity, and respect.
There is no excuse for the world to stand by and watch two million human beings suffer on the brink of full-blown famine.
A starving human being needs food today, not tomorrow.
People of good conscience must stop the starvation in Gaza.

The population of Gaza needs food…children are starving to death every day. @WCKitchen and others are bringing in as many trucks as we safely can given the chaos that’s been created….but it’s not even close to enough.
We need a ceasefire now and an increase in aid with safe routes and distribution, and release of the hostages. While we appreciate the efforts of @cogatonline to allow food in…we must increase exponentially to save the lives of these innocent children. We are ready.
After serving more than 130 million total meals and 26 million loaves of bread over the past 18 months, World Central Kitchen no longer has the supplies to cook meals or bake bread in Gaza. #ChefsForGaza (1/5)

Born into slavery in Maryland in 1818, Frederick Douglass never knew his birthday. Remembering his mother once called him "Little Valentine," he later chose to celebrate his birth on Valentine's Day. February was chosen as #BlackHistoryMonth in part to honor Douglass & Lincoln.
Some of the first park rangers in America weren’t rangers at all. They were Buffalo Soldiers — Black Americans who served in the U.S. Army after the Civil War. These dedicated men protected wildlife from poachers, built trails and forged a proud legacy in our nation’s history.
THERAPY DOGS Ghost and Hudson have been visiting first responders, salvage crews, investigators, and @Reagan_Airport workers *every day* since last week’s midair collision.
The military did not enter California. The federal government restarted federal water pumps after they were offline for maintenance for three days. State water supplies in Southern California remain plentiful.
Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.
