De Nederlandse “welvaartsstaat” dreigt steeds verder vast te lopen. Ik zet welvaartsstaat tussen aanhalingstekens, omdat het woord steeds minder de lading dekt. Beter zou zijn te spreken van “afhankelijkheidsstaat” of “onvrijheidsstaat”. Steeds meer mensen zijn afhankelijk van de staat, van politieke beslissingen in Den Haag en Brussel en er is steeds minder ruimte voor mensen/ondernemers om regie over hun eigen leven te leiden.
