So, basically, 500 million Europeans expect 300 million Americans to protect them from 120 million Russians who can’t even defeat 40 million Ukrainians while those 500 million Europeans don’t even realize they are being conquered by 2 billion Muslims who claim they are being persecuted by 8 million Israelis. Is that about right?

A retired NASA engineer who had worked on the Space Shuttle program for 25 years was hired by SpaceX at age 62. He described the first week as the most disorienting experience of his professional life.
At NASA, a design change required 3 meetings, 2 committees, a review board, and 6 to 18 months of documentation. At SpaceX, his new supervisor said "if it works, build it. If it doesn't, change it by Friday."
He sat at his desk after the first day and called his wife. He told her he felt like a man who had been swimming with ankle weights for 25 years and someone just cut them off. He could move. He could decide. He could build something in the morning and test it in the afternoon. The constraint that he had accepted as the nature of aerospace engineering turned out to be the nature of bureaucracy.
Within 6 months he had contributed to more design iterations than he had completed in his last 5 years at NASA. Not because he was working harder. Because the time between having an idea and testing the idea collapsed from months to hours. The same brain. The same knowledge. A different operating system.
He described a specific moment where he proposed a modification to a Raptor engine component. At NASA, the proposal would have entered a queue. At SpaceX, the modification was machined by the end of the day and tested by the following morning. He watched his idea become a physical object in 18 hours. At NASA, 18 hours would not have been enough to schedule the first meeting to discuss whether to schedule a meeting.
He told an interviewer: "I didn't get smarter when I went to SpaceX. I got faster. The intelligence was always there. The system was in the way."
The difference between SpaceX and NASA is not talent. NASA has extraordinary talent. The difference is the time between a thought and a test. SpaceX compresses it. NASA elongates it. The same engineer produces 10x more at SpaceX than at NASA because the bottleneck was never the engineer. It was the meetings about the meetings about the work.
A guy spent 6 years as a software engineer on Google's Android team. He worked on features that ship to over 3 billion devices worldwide more than any other operating system on earth.
He said the same thing frustrates him every time he watches someone use an Android phone:
"Android is the most powerful, customizable, and feature-rich mobile operating system ever built. It can run two apps on screen simultaneously. It can transcribe conversations in real time. It can identify anything on screen with a circle of your finger. It can lock individual apps behind a fingerprint. It can automate your entire daily routine based on time, location, and activity. It has a hidden developer menu that makes the phone feel twice as fast. It has a secure encrypted folder that hides apps and files behind a separate password. And it has an AI engine that summarizes recordings, coaches your photography, and translates phone calls live. Most people use it for calls, texts, Instagram, and a camera. That's a $1,000 pocket computer running at 10%."
He said Android adds 50–100 features with every major release, and phone manufacturers like Samsung, Google, and OnePlus add dozens more on top. The result: your phone can do things you've never imagined buried in settings menus, hidden behind gestures, and tucked inside apps you've never opened.
"Google ships Android to 3 billion people. About 3% of them discover what it actually does."
Here are the 11 things he showed me:
Was reading an article about Democratic Socialism and I thought that you could substitute "National" for "Democratic" and you'd have the same thing. Of course the word "Nazi" is derived from National Socialism so perhaps we should coin the word "Demzi" for Democratic Sociialism.
3. Haz lo mismo con el lado opuesto
El cerebro es tan interesante...
Elon Musk once sent a company wide email to every Tesla employee at 1:17am.
The subject line was one word. "Productivity." The email said if a meeting doesn't require your direct contribution, leave. If a rule doesn't make sense, don't follow it. If a communication chain requires six people to relay a message that could go direct, skip the chain. He said anyone at Tesla has permission to email or talk to anyone else at Tesla, including him, without going through their manager.
He said large meetings are the blight of big companies. That most meetings should be three people or fewer. That if you're not adding value to a meeting you should walk out. Not rudely. Just leave. Nobody should be offended. What should offend people is wasting each other's time.
This email leaked and went viral because it violated every rule of corporate management. No hierarchy. No chain of command. No scheduled updates that exist because they've always existed.
Every other car company runs on process. Tesla runs on a 1am email that says stop following processes that don't make sense.
The difference between Musk and most CEOs isn't intelligence or vision. It's that most CEOs manage systems. Musk deletes systems. He treats every process as guilty until proven innocent. Every meeting as worthless until proven necessary. Every rule as an obstacle until proven useful.
Most companies die from rules they were too polite to question. Musk questions them at 1am and hits send.
Kevin Hart shares the lesson that changed his life
“I got a 585 on my SAT, they give you 400 for putting your name on the paper. I guessed A,B,A,C,A,D,A... I did ABACADABA all the way down”
“I didnt care because there was a class trip that same day, I wanted to go. I was told that not taking my SAT seriously would prohibit me from furthering myself in life”
“When I saw all my friends get their test scores back and they were ecstatic, everybody’s going to college, I felt like the biggest idiot in the world”
“The same people I wanted to rush to go to Great Adventure with, they had taken their SAT the week before. I was the only one who didn’t prioritize so I’m the only one going to community college… I just got left behind”
“Lesson learned, any opportunity given should be taken serious from this point on because if not you can find yourself feeling just like this”
“I learned from it… now if I gotta take a test you best believe I’m studying for that”
@thirdmetax I had a similar moment in a custody case that also involved DHS. I represented the father and had already questioned the mother and caught her in a huge lie. When her attorney asked her what she wanted and her response that she didn't want to be questioned by me anymore.
Dr. Daniel Amen drops a game-changing stat on back pain
"70% of people age 70 have abnormal MRIs with no pain at all.
50% of people age 50 have abnormal back/neck/shoulder MRIs—and no symptoms.
An abnormal MRI doesn't automatically mean surgery.
Head-to-head studies show surgery is no more effective than conservative care... but has a 21-fold increased risk of side effects."
Don't let fear drive the first step—try brain-boosting conservative approaches first.
1:38 clip inside—eye-opening reality check.
And, they are the folks who tried to jail their political opponents. They are the folks who fight any election security measures to ensure that elections are free and "fair." They want to regulate free enterprise out of existence so the government can control everything. Tell me again how it is they believe in democracy.
We always here these folks make these over-the-top statements with no specifics. Who's rights have been taken away? They are the folks that censored everyone and want to punish people for saying things they don't like. They want to restrict religious liberty, eliminate the 2nd amendment. They made us wear masks and threatened folks who didn't stay at home, unless you were a member of the elite or certain other groups. They want to use the government to take everything you earn and give to folks for transgender surgeries, abortion, drag shows, illegal immigrants, etc. They want to tell us what we can and cannot say or think. They want to force us to use certain "pronouns." They want the government to control every aspect of our lives. They are the socialist (really communist, many of them). They only believe in democracy if they are in control of what it means. They hate democracy when the people disagree with them. No one's rights have been taken away and if any reporter had the guts to ask this moron, he would not be able to back up his statment with any facts.
This will cost about $267 for every person in the state. So, a family of 4 will pay a little over $1000 in additional taxes for this. That's just construction cost, not the cost to run it afterwards. For some, that's a lot, others not so much. But, of course we know some pay a larger share of the tax burden than others. How much will it cost you?
