A scene we love from 'Notting Hill', which was released on this day in 1999 ♥️🇬🇧 Hugh Grant walking through the changing seasons, to the sound of Bill Withers’ "Ain’t No Sunshine"

"Ontem...mentira ontem não...acho que foi na 2a, ou terá sido Domingo? Olha não sei...mas fui ao LIDL porque não tinha cá pão, até pensei em ir ao Pingo Doce primeiro, que é mais perto mas gosto mais do do LIDL...e vi lá o João."
Everyone loves Before Sunrise for the walking and talking, but the part that fascinates me is what came before that. The moment on the train. When he walks up to her and says something that makes her feel something, anything. A flicker of excitement in an otherwise ordinary day.
I don't think many people experience that feeling anymore. Someone walking up to you and making you feel alive for no reason other than they noticed you and decided to say something. We've lost that. Or maybe we've just forgotten what it feels like to be surprised by a stranger.
Before Sunrise is unwatchable because it's so good. It's such a beautiful encapsulation of young iPhoneless love, shot on analog film, a nineties time machine of a mysterious Europe that no longer exists, you feel like you are dying as you watch it.
After a certain age, you are no longer the product of your environment or how you were raised. It's a personal choice to live the way you do. At some point, blaming your past becomes a distraction from your future. Healing is your responsibility. Growth is your decision.
