@danylanzhou The 7S edition even omitted 民風和樂 right on the first page of vol 1 (this was also missing in Suika's fan translation). It's not critical to the story but if this can happen on page 1, who knows what else might have been been accidentally left out.
@killershot20@KinokuniyaUSA@Rosmeihey It looks like the Kinokuniya version doesn't come with dust covers so if you want the dust covers, you probably shouldn't cancel your order.

@congeebrain@aprilclaws hello yuyu, you’ve been one of my fav translators since pre 7s erha era, so i can’t help feeling disappointed in ur stance in this issue. as a native cn speaker, i feel the treatment of an zhe’s name is a matter of respect, i hope you consider this detailed perspective as to why:
@jupy314 It’s really telling that they haven’t said they have the author’s permission. One simple statement is all it would take to shut down the argument.
I honestly wonder: if Little Mushroom were under another publisher, handled by unknown translators (rather than 7S & two popular ex-fan translators), and they also changed An Zhe to Anzhe, would the debate look the same? Would there still be so many people defending the decision?
@yuka_cchii Even if An Ze's last name isn't An, the 7S translation uses An Ze. If you want to argue that An isn't a surname, then 7S should be using Anze not An Ze.
An Zhe honors An Ze throughout the story by carrying both the likeness of the latter's name and appearance, but never at the expense of his own personhood.
Fans would appreciate knowing the reasoning behind this choice, so some added clarification would be genuinely welcome.
The name was given to him this way by An Ze himself, in a moment tied to kinship ("It's like I've gained a younger brother"), with the original giving a playful resonance with bending, endurance, and his history as a mushroom that refuses to die.
Respectfully, if "Anzhe" and "An Ze" are intentional, may we get a clearer explanation of the editorial logic behind using both? It's not merely to distinguish this version from PFH's, right?
The original "An Zhe" and "An Ze" are spelled like mirrors of each other for a reason +
@danmeifreak I guessed this might happen when one of the translators posted a tweet with Anzhe almost right after 7S said they'll fix it. Yesterday, the other translator also posted about translation discord and people being 'confident and wrong'.
@jupy314 I doubt it's because it's already printed. Less than an hour after 7S said they'll fix it to An Zhe, one of the translators deliberately posted a tweet using Anzhe. The translators decided to double down on using Anzhe.
