I often wonder what the fuck is wrong with society 👇
Heartfelt congratulations to the person who dug up the pitch at the Crown Hill Cricket Ground to prove their "success."
You succeeded in your mission.
Westcroft Cricket Club has, with great regret, been forced to withdraw from the league because it is no longer possible for other teams to play in this constant environment of vandalism.
You did not just damage a pitch; you stripped away the favorite sport, the joy, the friendships, and the healthy activities of over 80 children, youths, and adult players.
Congratulations on impacting an entire cricketing community.
Congratulations on undermining the hard work of volunteers who dedicate their time, money, and energy to promote the sport.
Congratulations on disappointing the parents who wanted to see their children engaged in positive activities.
Cricket is not just a game; it is a source of discipline, friendship, respect, and community cohesion.
It is tragic that someone’s negative mindset and destructive actions have washed away the happiness of so many people.
Hopefully, you are satisfied today knowing that a single action of yours has affected dozens of matches, hundreds of hours of hard work, and the happiness of countless individuals. But remember, grounds can be rebuilt, pitches can be prepared again, and the cricket community can bounce back stronger than ever.
Our full support and respect goes out to Westcroft Cricket Club, its players, volunteers, and supporters.
We hope this difficult time passes quickly and that the voices of children and youth will once again echo through the cricket ground.
A Call to the Community
We request all readers to strongly condemn this shameful act. The person who damaged the cricket ground and pitch did not just dig up soil—they attacked the happiness of dozens of children, youth, and athletes.
If you also believe that damaging sports fields, youth activities, and community hard work is unacceptable, then please raise your voice against this act.
Express your condemnation at least once, so a message goes out that our community will never accept such negative and destructive behavior.
Your single comment, a word, or even one voice can serve as proof of standing with this community.
Show solidarity with Westcroft Cricket Club, its 80+ players, and all its volunteers.
Sports stand for love, unity, and positive engagement. It is the responsibility of us all to discourage those who destroy them.
Westcroft Cricket Club.
🚨Arsenal played 63 of a possible 65 games across the four competitions we competed in, more games than any other big five European league side in 2025/26.
Only in 1979/80 (70) and 1970/71 (64) have Arsenal played more matches in a single campaign.
Our 1-0 win at West Ham in May was our 42nd victory of the season and saw us break our club record for wins in a single campaign, which had stood for 55 years.
Meanwhile, the only big five European league side to claim more victories than us across the season was Bayern Munich.
Most wins in a single season
Season Wins
2025/26 44
1970/71 41
2001/02 39
2003/04 37
2007/08 36
We finished the season with 44 wins from our 63 games, posting a win % of 70%, the highest in our club’s history.
With 57 appearances, Martin Zubimendi now holds the record for the highest number of appearances in a debut season in our entire history, taking the record from Pat Jennings, which he had held since 1977-78 (55 games).
We scored a total of 36 set pieces (excluding penalties) throughout the season, with 27 coming from corners - more than any other side across Europe’s top five leagues in 2025-26.
A total of 27 of our 36 set-piece goals helped us draw level in a match (4) or put us one goal ahead (23) - the most of any big five European league team.
We had a combined 40 goals (24) and assists (16) from substitutes in 2025/26, with only Bayern Munich having more among big five European league sides. The total of 24 goals is the most we've had in a single season in our history.
We used 31 different players in 2025/26, one fewer than last season. We had as many as nine players reach 50 games for the first time since 1979/80.
We kept 32 clean sheets this season, six more than any other side in Europe’s big-five leagues in all competitions. Only in 1970/71 (37) and 1979/80 (33) have we had more in a single season.
Robbie isn't young.
Fans in the 80s knew about this incident.
If you think we as Arsenal fans should forget our differences for a few days, that isn't an unreasonable opinion.
But please don't say Robbie Lyle 'is Arsenal through and through'.
It isn't remotely true.
(THREAD) Today is about lifting the trophy but there was a lot of talk about AFTV and Robbie Lyle yesterday so I think this topical and relevant.
In 1982 a Gooner called John Dickonson was murdered by members of The ICF, the West Ham hooligan firm at time.
Stabbed to death.
A special shout out to Jamie O’Hara, Shay Given, Peter Schmeichel, Joe Hart, Gabby Agbonlahor, Chris Sutton, Gary Neville, that midget Rory div, and the dozens of others I’ve forgotten - all of whom have been doing their absolute bollocks the past few months, willing and praying hard for Man City to win the league.
Get fucked, all of you.
WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS.
@WATSS_MCFC Even worse you're actually lying too 😂 the original banner from years ago is spelled "Pannick" because that's the lawyer's name. Don't even know your own club you plastic.
You can see from the screenshot that I cannot interact with these tweets, as I have previously been blocked by these users for calling them out on trying to scam tickets to previous matches.
They don’t give up, they keep trying to rip you off.
Don’t do it.
For those who follow and use the brilliant @AFCFixtureNews account for ticket and match info, it has been hacked - as has @willow1886's personal account. Please don't click on anything you might get from either account.
‘Everyone hates Arsenal because they push boundaries’ just doesn’t rub.
The reason there’s so much hatred is the over focus on every facet of what people supposedly don’t like by a willing media, even if the focus is objectively petty and small minded (too much arm waving, use of the word ‘project’, standing on the edge of the technical box, over celebration, too good at set pieces)
Relentless. It trickles down. Even our own fans start getting down about it.
How can I be seeing ‘are Arsenal worthy champions’ from serious people in a record breaking year for wins? From a club with the 5th highest wage bill going up against nation states and unlimited private credit tethered to nothing. A team unbeaten in UCL and in a final. The best defensive record in the league. How are we here?
Because it’s Arsenal.
No one would dare say it about any other team.
It’s part of our history. That we might have done it the hard way shines a light on everyone else’s failings . Lap it up. We don’t care. 🔴⚪️
Forget VAR. The truth is there are simply an awful lot of people out there who cannot handle the idea that Arsenal might just win this thing. https://t.co/w7klsGBpoj
State of this idiot!! 40 credits?? I’ve never seen this fella at an away game in my life! Looks like he’s been in the club shop for the first time and has paid £500 for his ticket!
Arsenal fans need to hunt down that tool with the Champions shirt and find out if this was a plant/staged situation and out the organiser of it. Be very embarrasing if it was a media outlet!
Forever remembered. A tragedy which never seems to get the media respect it should. It’s is why we did this at the cup final - and thankfully it had thousands applauding to mark their respect.
