Massive strike on Odessa. Analysis of the impact. The bridge in Mayaki is closed. There are multi-kilometer traffic jams on the approaches, and videos are circulating on Odesa social media channels. No one knows when it will be reopened. A week ago, while analyzing the destroyed section in Zatoka, I wrote: "Zatoka and Mayaki are like a gate with two doors. One has been ripped off its hinges. The other is still holding." It held until this morning. What happened last night The Ministry of Defense reported briefly: in the port of Odesa, there were fuel and lubricant depots, military equipment, and a port transshipment complex. In Chornomorsk, there were fuel and lubricant depots and equipment. In Belyary and Novyi Belyary, 27 and 28 kilometers northeast of the Odessa port, there were fuel tanks for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Odesa monitoring channels detailed the night's events: approximately four Iskander-M missiles targeted Odesa, two Onyx missiles, at least four Lancet drones, and about fifty Geran drones. And separately, three Iskander-M missiles targeted Mayaki. The Ukrainian Air Force's timeline confirms: 04:02 - "missile towards Mayaki"; 04:12 - another target was heading towards Chornomorsk and changed course. Also towards Mayaki. The reaction from the other side Ukrainian officials are still avoiding using the word "bridge." But they have said everything else. The State Border Guard Service: traffic on the Odessa-Reni section of the road is restricted, and it is impossible to reach several border crossing points on the Moldovan border and to return towards Odesa. Why this is painful After the attack on Zatoka, all vehicle traffic to and from Bessarabia, as well as from the Danube cities of Izmail and Reni, went through a single route - the M-15, with a section passing through Moldovan territory via Palanca. One road for two hundred kilometers of territory and hundreds of thousands of people. In December 2025, this bridge was already hit – more than ten strikes in a single day. The bridge was repaired. It stood again. And after Zatoka, it remained the only option. Now, the "door" is closed again. It is too early to talk about the condition of the structure. I will not claim that the bridge is out of service for a long time: in December, it was repaired in three days, and traffic was resumed by noon.
