Just wrapped up 4 days in Omaha and I can’t express how great this event is. It must be on your bucket list as a sports fan.
From my experience:
Stadium: 10/10
Food: 10/10
Weather: 10/10
Bar scene: 10/10
Family atmosphere: 10/10
Merch options: 10/10
Omaha: 10/10
It’s heaven.
College baseball feels like the last of the big NCAA sports where mid-majors have a chance to make some noise.
And that is why its stock is skyrocketing.

UCLA becoming the #1 overall seed is incredibly impressive.
People don’t realize how hard it is not just to BECOME #1…
but to STAY #1.
I was on a UCLA team that reached #1 in the country.
And honestly?
once you get there…
everything changes.
Every team circles your name on the schedule.
Every team gives you their best shot.
The pressure grows.
The expectations grow.
And if you’re not careful…
you slowly stop playing free.
You start trying to protect the ranking instead of competing.
That’s what makes what this UCLA team did so special.
To go wire-to-wire as the #1 team in the country…
while carrying expectations the entire season…
takes an unbelievable level of:
- toughness
- consistency
- confidence
- mental freedom
Especially in baseball.
Because baseball has a way of humbling you FAST.
Excited to watch the postseason start this Friday.
Thank you for reading,
Jermaine Curtis

It’s really Kawhi. Kawhi didn’t understand that if he just signed first, OKC lost a lot of their leverage in trading PG. Once Sam knew Kawhi signing was contingent on PG being traded to the Clippers, he went for the kill
@BadgerMBBVC@csteed Other thing I had in mind that is related to FTs is getting into the bonus earlier -- how many floor fouls you draw (also prevent). It helps you create more scoring opps, in situations that maybe you wouldn't even have gotten one. But that one is a little out of your control.
@BadgerMBBVC@csteed Definitely! I view it as shooting attempts / scoring opportunities! So FGA + FTA (or if being technical trips to the FT line)
Great pointing out the Catch-22ness of the pace metric too....
Any other ideas on how to increase scoring opportunities over your opponent?
@csteed In most games, both teams will generally have approx the same number of poss: You play faster, you get more poss, but your opponent also gets more poss too. And in the end it evens out.
Open to brainstorming ideas because I do think this is the next layer to peel back.
@csteed I've been thinking how to ⬆️ shooting attempts (which is what you refer to here) and the ways you can get to more attempts. Agree on 2/3.
I'm not sure pace is connected though, since pace will generally even out for both teams during the course of the game
