There is a lot of focus on one particular motion from the @BACP, but something to raise - why is #SCoPEd missing from the resolutions and motions? Surely, the largest topic in recent C&P history, and it's not been presented at least once?
#UnderTheMicroSCoPEd#Fishy
This is the letter I received from the Minister for Health & Social Care. She is under the impression that #Scoped is a move in the direction of self regulation.......
Let me know if it's OK to read.....
Dear @BACP members, voting in this years motions and resolutions process opened yesterday. Please can you consider supporting these 4 resolutions submitted by CTUK admin and members? We feel, if successful, they will make a huge difference for members. 1/ @Therapists_C
@micro_scoped@BACP Thank you, details of how my experience of navigat8ing this process can be found here for anyone who is interested - https://t.co/niWm3ZctdU
Hello #TherapistsConnect, in particular BACP members (and therapists interested in SCoPEd). As promised I have recorded a video discussing my engagement with the BACP's resolution and motions process this year. 1/ https://t.co/F6IP8aezVE
As part of the @BACP resolution and motion process, please support this important request for them to commit to an independent #impact assessment on #SCoPEd.
@MariaAlbertsen_@GuiltyTherapist Completely agree with you. The concern is that the BACP et al seem to refuse to take part in ANY engagement with other organisations. Maybe @ncs_counselling will be able to speak on our behalf, they seem to be the only ones pushing for answers.
Of course, the BACP are going to do the exact same as last year - if the board don't like a motion or resolution, they simply won't give people the opportunity to resubmit. 🤦♀️
But they've been listening to members... 😡
Well done @aclientfirst on getting some sort of answer.
@BACP@aclientfirst By whom has it been approved? By the membership?? I don’t remember being given ANY sort of an opportunity in which to even voice an opinion much less influence this strategy. WHO approved it??
@BACP Do the BACP think this is ethically justifiable given that there are no clear parameters as to what thr board will accept or reject, and therefore no way of knowing how to submit a successful resolution? Why not give people guidance and let them submit something you will accept?
Every single @BACP member should be outraged that the board will reject their resolutions outright, without opportunity to resubmit, and will not offer guidance on how to submit something they will accept.
This video from the BACP is deeply concerning. It's a lot of #buzzwords that doesn't actually EXPLAIN how they will ensure fairness, #diversity and #inclusion. It's essentially #propaganda.
How much is this marketing costing?

We believe a credible, diverse and thriving counselling and psychotherapy profession will help more people across society.

@BACP@BACP why are you continuing to promote #SCoPEd? We will never be credible, diverse & thriving if you don't challenge the @GOVUK and the @NHSEngland Psychological Therapies agenda. They don't appear to have any intention of paying & using registered counsellors to do counselling
@BACP@MariaAlbertsen_ Does this mean that some might still be rejected without the opportunity to resubmit? Or can you guarantee nobody will be rejected without the opportunity to resubmit?
SCoPEd is explicitly anti-diversity. It creates an economic hierarchy. My first question when SCoPEd is enacted will be - what are the demographics of each column? I predict a disproportionate number of white m/c men in column C, and women, w/c & therapists of colour in column A.
@UK_Counsellors@BACP Hm, maybe my words are a bit harsh. I mean the message, not Suki. As was mentioned by several, the SCoPEd project seems to be doing the opposite to all the great things that Suki was talking about.
@UK_Counsellors@BACP I feel completely disengaged from hearing them talk. It was scripted so heavily, ungenuine, and just felt like they were talking about being "ally's" whilst implementing things like SCoPEd...
@ncs_counselling @UK_Counsellors Why doesn't @BACP get this message across rather than pursue #SCoPEd ? We can work with existing professional standards authority.
