Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said that negotiations over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) have reached a dead end, stressing that Egypt reserves its full right to defend its water security if it is threatened.

South Cyprus has rejected a Turkish Cypriot family’s €41m claim over their own land - the ground beneath Paphos airport.

The Greek Cypriot court of appeal refused to accept they were expelled in 1974, called the seizure “lawful,” and ordered the family to pay its legal costs.

Meanwhile in the North, the Immovable Property Commission has paid Greek Cypriot claimants over €767 million for lost property - and is recognised by the European Court of Human Rights as an effective remedy. The South has no equivalent.
