I never realised Jackdaws with Rooks can murmurate until this winter! Most evenings they swirl in large flocks over the bay in West Wales before roosting in their hundreds in a pine copse. @WTWales @RSPBCymru #nature #birdwatching @PembsBirds @PaulDaviesPembs

Woad, a dye plant, grows wild near Pamiers in the area alongside the RN20, not too far from Mazeres.

#StainedglassSunday Two of the windows in the upper storey of the museum in Mazères. The house, belonging to a woad merchant in 1600s, was extensively renovated in the last part of the 20C. These are right Renaissance period but not sure if they are original to the house.

I can’t tell you how bowled over I was by this beauty - I mean just look at it! 😍 It seems too exotic for Britain! Sword-leaved Helleborine, Cephalanthera longifolia, sadly one of our most threatened orchids which has seriously declined in the last 30 years. #WildflowerHour
