@RNLI@DoverRNLI They were incredible. I look after some of the people they rescue and to say I admire the crew's bravery doesn't begin to describe my feelings. They are amazing. And I know they get criticism. I may have to head down there and drop off some goodies so they know they are appreciated
@RNLI@MikeTappTweets These are humans, the sounds of them screaming for their lives, the desperation in their faces, the bravery of the crew ...this is humanity at its most raw.
You denigrate/dismiss this with pretending you can stop it by being tough. You can't.These humans need safety, not sanction
And if you think these human beings don't deserve rescue and the @RNLI shouldn't take part, you are beyond contempt.
Nothing will stop these small boats except legal routes and @MikeTappTweets et al, you need to stop the ridiculous "hard" talk and get real and focus on this.
Tonight's #savinglivesatsea showing the incredible @DoverRNLI rescue of people in the channel may be one of the hardest things I have watched on TV in a long time.
Thank you to the brave volunteers, you are incredible. 1/2
