@SandorHQ@JetBrainsRider@godotengine I have not yet tested Rider with Godot, but VS Code is able to handle GDScript refactoring via the LSP provided by the Godot editor
(it's still a pain to do any kind of refactoring from within the Godot editor)
It's time for all of us to move elsewhere !
If you're not there yet, the blue firmament is now a very lovely place.
Create an account, find Rami, look for his "industry starter pack" and you'll have dozens of people to follow across all fields from the games industry !
When making doing creative work: Don't strive for perfection. It will just lead to burn-out and hating things you should love to do.
Instead: be kind to yourself and lower the bar. More often than nothing, what you think is "subpar" in the moment is actually of great quality.

This is 100% the issue with AAA publishers rn.
If you've spent YEARS undermining yourself with poor consistency, you need to spend at least SOME time rebuilding faith.
Indies making "niche" games are blowing up cuz they've built trust, stayed consistent, and engage with their audience.
Ubisoft corpos have earned themselves all sorts of negative assumptions, which impacts games that are actually good, like Prince of Persia.
I KNOW that Ubisoft knows this, they admitted it over the Assassin's Creed Unity flop. AAA publisher c-suite execs need to look in the fucking mirror.
this is such a psycho move in an industry full of psycho moves. even from a business perspective, when you nurture talented, keyed-in teams like this they inevitably grow and gain enough recognition to eventually make you more money than you'd ever dream of.
Since the last changes here, things have started to get interesting on the other side 🦋
Don't hesitate to take a look, you'll be surprised to find so many familiar faces (in gamedev in particular)
@doot_dodo I think the max size/compression settings cannot be changed per-platform by default, but maybe that could be scripted ?...
I haven't seen any PPU setting on Godot however sorry 😭
@doot_dodo The magic part with Unity is that we can set size-limit+compression per target platform
That means we can have original textures made for 4K resolution, but resize/compress them at build time for platforms with lesser resolution (e.g. Switch)
Hi #GodotEngine folks! 😀 I finally updated the README of my starter kit to show all the things to discover in it! 🚀Link in the bio 🚀
(some videos aren't playing on the recording below, my bad! )
