Then they said the entire rotation was on board with doing one piggyback each until the break. They use Miller/Castillo again. Then….. next week it’s Gilbert/Hancock, but they decide to break it up because “we don’t want to mess with Gilbert’s hot streak” but they were perfectly fine doing it to Bryce Miller? So they push the Gilbert/Hancock piggyback to the following week, only to scrape it for “extra rest” despite the Mariners having an off-day on Wednesday, the upcoming Monday, and the All-Star Break looming a week later.
