PhD Candidate @NTNU and @UNISvalbard working on ocean colour hyperspectral imaging with drones and small satellites (HYPSO-1). Fascinated by birds and water.
Lit by moonlight during the Arctic night, Svalbard recently hosted the Polar Night Week, organized by the Svalbard Integrated Arctic Earth Observing System.
@NanniUgo tells us about this amazing event where tens of Arctic science meet every year!

What a week...❄️
Take a look at @SIOS_KC and scroll through it to know what we've been up to, during the 5th Edition of #PolarNightWeek in #Svalbard!
A week full of #Arctic science, networking, zero sun but thousand of breathtaking views.
New week, new conference! We're now at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Paris. Great to meet up with all space friends again! 🚀 #IAC2022
My paper "A Closer Look at a Spectrographic Wavelength Calibration" won the Outstanding Paper Award at the WHISPERS 2022 hyperspectral conference in Rome! 🎊 #hyperspectral#paper#award#phd
This week we attended the WHISPERS conference in Rome. We had multiple talks about our HYPSO-1 satellite, and I presented my paper on wavelength calibration. Great to finally meet up with others in this community again! ☀️
Our #hyperspectal instrument on the HYPSO-1 #CubeSat supporting a large @NTNU AMOS field campaign over Svalbard last week. Various sensor systems in, on and over the ocean were collorating together. The image shows an low-res RGB render of an HSI image. https://t.co/DEkmasSsQB
We went to Ny-Ålesund to investigate algae blooms in Kongsfjorden with everything from satellite and drones to water samples and microscope - full observational pyramid! https://t.co/F7jhy6eeSp @NTNU@UNISvalbard
There's currently a 🌡️#heatwave going on in the ❄️#Arctic, as illustrated by this beautiful, but very disconcerting #Sentinel2 image (published yesterday by @CopernicusEU).

Back from a great week of fieldwork up in Ny-Ålesund! Focusing on pigments in micro- and macroalgae with the AB-823 course. Also found some seals in Kongsfjorden, they are so cute!
@Hughes_Matt Really enjoy seeing this, also love that you include different weather conditions!
Could tone down the background music a bit, and I like that you include sound on some clips (but not all the noisy ones). But very good job, please make more! ✨
Just held my presentation on the pre-launch calibration we did for the hyperspectral imager on our HYPSO-1 cubesat. So happy for all the feedback, enjoying being back at a conference! (And yes there were people, all just hiding in the back of the room)
#IEEEAerospaceConference
Good first day of the IEEE Aerospace Conference in Big Sky, Montana. Looking forward to a week of full of interesting talks, and maybe some skiing too!
