Een "familielid" zoals hij, of nu zoals Demir, zijn de nieuwe liefkes die één keer meekomen naar een familiefeest terwijl ze ondertussen al sms'en naar drie andere vlammen. Terwijl ik voor mijn leerlingen, collega's en directie door het vuur zou gaan.

Wij hadden ooit eens een maand een nieuwe directeur op school die enkel kwam overbruggen tussen twee kabinetten. Toen hij daar zijn postje kreeg, speechte hij hoe hij zijn "nieuwe familie" al moest achterlaten.

Als leerkracht begreep ik toen dat zo'n politicus in de verste verte niet inziet dat het hart van het onderwijspersoneel op een andere manier klopt voor onze school. Het is niet voorwaardelijk, niet tijdelijk, geen droom van een week. Het is hart, nieren, ziel en 24/7.
