@Technimentals@unusual_whales Meanwhile, colleges are full and wealthy people continue to hire professionals to help their kids get into top schools.
But yeah, the system is gonna collapse any minute.
@hecubian_devil "Hey, Palestinians! We had to teach the mean ol' Democrats a lesson about caring for you by letting more of you die. Sorry about that!"
@cannibality I find it so strange that any American would be bothered by it. Every haka I've seen (including the one in discourse right now) has been inspiring.
Last night, some friends and I were talking about it and all of us thought it was incredibly cool.
@AlanLevinovitz This sort of thing is my biggest frustration with modern politics.
Just because I disagree with a lot of what RFK thinks doesn't mean I have to be against everything he believes.
There's a reason many nations have banned many dyes and additives. They're not all benign.
@JeremiahDJohns This reminds me of when Rick Perry wanted to axe the Dept of Energy. He then became head of it.
He learned really quickly that they actually did really important work and that getting rid of it would have been a massive disaster.
@henri_mourant My guy, this might be the one thing that the coming administration does that's good for the nation.
This ain't the thing to expend energy objecting to. Save it for when he's trying to regulate vaccines.
@IwriteOK At some point, people seem to have forgotten that the main purpose of a MH diagnosis is to figure out the treatment or interventions a person needs so they can function normally.
They're not quirky, self-assigned personality traits to pull out to excuse inappropriate behavior.
@monoblancoatx @IwriteOK Except it hasn't been. Mental health has fallen off a cliff in the last 10 years, and people self-diagnosing themselves from tumblr and tiktok hasn't helped.
I'm not sure how much worse it needs to get before people realize the new course we're on is not good.
@Kittenfish817 @americaninuk1 "We need to unburden police by making it so they don't have to respond to situations they're not trained for, such as mental health emergencies."
I've had a lot of success by reframing it like this. Package it as helping the police.
@razibkhan Is this because you're hoping you suffer a medical error from the overworked surgeon who is constantly on the precipice of a mental breakdown?
I suppose that's one way of getting rich quickly.
@SocDemFan @JucheAmerican@yakobmylum@LilithLovett@SirBadOpinions I get that you need to participate in the economy to live, even if you have critiques.
However, when the profession you choose is to be a literal propagandist for a multinational corporation that basically uses slave labor, it undermines your point.
@Komaniecki_R @danlehnermusic He directly benefits from the system while making propaganda designed to hurt the efforts of the people who are actually working to change things for the better.
He's worse than a hypocrite. He's a fifth columnist.
